Adductor muscles strain

ADDUCTOR MUSCLE STRAIN
synonyms: groin strain, pulled groin, groin tear, adductor strain, adductor tear, torn adductor muscle, sore groin syndrome
Pain in the inner thigh is often associated with excessive use of the adductor muscle(s) and weakness of the abdominal wall. When this tension is excessive, due to too much repetition or high force, one or more groin muscles can tear. From five adductor muscles, m. adductor longus is most commonly affected. This frequently occurs during running with sudden direction changes, running with the rapid accelerations and decelerations, jumping, ball kicking as well as in presence of the trauma. Injury is classified from a grade 1 to a grade 3 so it can range from a small partial hyperextension of groin muscle(s), with just a sensation of muscle tension, whereby there is minimal pain and minimal loss of function, to a complete rupture of one or more adductor muscles resulting in severe pain, presence of swelling and redness with complete debilitation.
The goal of physical therapy is to reduce the load on tendons entheses by increasing their flexibility, increase the strength and elasticity of the injured muscle and the muscles that surround it because they serve as a helpers in his movements. Rehabilitation should not be performed during the initial acute phase. It should be started when pain decreases in order to prevent injury progression.
Prevention: training technique correction, well warm-up before activity, stretching, adequate sports footwear.
